Merchants’ Academy has praised its students for their hard work and commitment in working towards their GCSE exams. Results announced today included a number of outstanding individual achievements, with many Year 11 students choosing to continue their education at Merchants’ Academy Sixth Form.
In particular, Madison Devlin achieved 10 A*/A grades, Kirara Ambers achieved 9 A*/A, and Holly Spray and Georgia Wall both achieved 7A*/A grades.
Principal, Nick Short, noted that whilst the headline figures were disappointing, many students only marginally missed the grade boundaries. “Over the past few years Merchants’ Academy has consistently improved the overall outcomes for our students and we remain committed to driving improvements forward over the next academic year,” he said. “I am delighted that many of our Year 11 students will be progressing on to Merchants’ Academy Sixth Form, which only last week saw 95% of A level students secure places at universities across the UK. Our ethos is to encourage every student to achieve more than they ever thought possible, and we have seen many students over the past week surpass expectations and who are an inspiration to their peers, teachers and the community.”
