Students and teachers at Merchants’ Academy in Bristol are celebrating the sixth form’s most impressive A level results since opening.
A record 95 per cent of students passed their exams and all those who applied to university have been successful in securing places.
As in the past two years, almost all of those who will study for degrees are the first generation of their family to do so.
Students from the south Bristol academy will study across the UK at universities in Cardiff, Leeds, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Aberystwyth, London and Bristol, pursuing degrees in subjects including history, maths, English literature, biology, environmental science, animal behaviour, computer programming, product design, criminology, photography and contemporary media and culture.
Principal, Nick Short said: “It is the hard work and commitment of teaching staff and students that has led to the positive outcomes that we have been celebrating today. I am extremely proud of our Sixth Form students, most of whom will go on to study at university and who are role models that inspire our younger students as well as the wider community.”
